Salvatore Orlando’s career in reinsurance began in 1987 when he started as a Specialty Line Treaty underwriter at Winterthur Re, a company later acquired by PartnerRe in 1998. Over the years, he advanced through various senior management roles, overseeing Property & Casualty (P&C) and Specialty business operations in Southern Europe and Latin America. In 2010, he was promoted to manage a business unit focused on High Growth Markets, encompassing Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Russia, and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
In 2019, Salvatore took on the responsibility for EMEA-related businesses, aiming to develop PartnerRe’s portfolio with a focus on profitability and effective portfolio management. His extensive experience across these diverse markets underscores his expertise in navigating complex reinsurance landscapes and driving business growth in both mature and emerging economies. Salvatore’s strategic vision and leadership skills have been pivotal in enhancing the company’s presence and performance in these key regions.
