Mike Morrissey is Chairman of the Board of Protective Life Corporation, a Fortune 500 provider of life insurance, annuities and other financial products. Protective Life is owned by Dai Ichi Life Group, one of Japan’s and the world’s largest life insurance companies. Mike is also a director of Dai Ichi Life of North America.
Previous to his appointment to the Protective Life board in 2020, Mike was President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Insurance Society (IIS) for eleven years. He continues his 30-year involvement in the leadership of the IIS as a member of its Executive Committee and as Special Advisor. He was Founder and CEO of insurance merchant bank Firemark Investments, which invested in and advised public and private insurance-related companies worldwide.
He is a board member of Skyward Specialty Insurance Group, a NASDAQ-listed commercial lines property & casualty insurer, and is Chairman of its Investment Committee. He is also Chairman of Legeis Capital, a provider of alternative asset management solutions to the insurance industry.
Mike earned a BA from Boston College, an MBA from Dartmouth, has completed Harvard Business School’s Corporate Financial Management Program, and has a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
