Dr. Li Xing joined the China Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI) at Renmin University in September 2024. She is currently a Senior Research Fellow and Secretary General of the CAFI China Inclusive Insurance Network (CIIN), where she focuses on re/insurance market analysis and the high-quality and sustainable development of inclusive insurance across China and globally.
Before joining CAFI, Li worked in the core research department of Swiss Re for almost 16 years. She was the first economist recruited by Swiss Re in mainland China and held various positions, including Senior Economist, Deputy Director of the China Centre, and Director of Global Insurance Market Research (based in Zurich).
Prior to her tenure at Swiss Re, Li spent over two years at the Chinese Agricultural Academy of Sciences (CAAS), focusing on public policies and rural development. She holds a PhD in management from Nanjing Agricultural University and completed post-doctoral research sponsored jointly by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and CAAS.
Dr. Li Xing is also an invited lecturer at Swiss Re and serves on the Editorial Board of Insurance Research Magazine (China Society of Insurance).
