Dr. Li Xing

Dr. Li Xing joined the Academy of Global Food Economics and Policy (AGFEP) at China Agricultural University in April 2026. As Head of Green Finance and Insurance Research and a Senior Research Fellow, she focuses on leveraging financial and insurance instruments to enhance the resilience of the agri-food system. Li brings nearly 16 years of extensive insurance experience from Swiss Re, where she was the first economist recruited by the company in mainland China. During her tenure, she held multiple key roles, including Senior Economist, Deputy Director of the China Centre, and Director of Global Insurance Market Research (based in Zurich).

Committed to bridging academia and industry, Li spent over a year with the Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI) at Renmin University and more than two years at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). She holds a PhD in Management from Nanjing Agricultural University and completed a joint post-doctoral fellowship sponsored by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and CAAS.

Dr. Li Xing also serves as an invited lecturer for Swiss Re and is a member of the Editorial Board of Insurance Research Magazine, published by the China Society of Insurance.
